The 5N gold Series 1 reinterprets the classical dress-watch profile through a modern lens. Its arched, openworked lugs, sculpted mid-case, and refined bezel echo traditional forms, yet the geometry and material execution push far beyond what was historically possible. The warmth of 5N rose gold, combined with the watch’s distinctive architecture, require both cutting-edge capabilities in micromechanics and expert craftsmanship. The result is a contemporary, versatile piece with a singular presence and rich visual depth from every angle.
The layered brown and gold tones echo those found in coastal California’s ancient, endangered redwoods — hues shaped over millennia. These colors, rendered on brushed finishes, work in tandem with the applied black-polished ring and markers, reimagining the sector dial while emphasizing both the inspiration and the hand-work that goes into each individual component.
Stronger angles give additional dimension to the Series 1 hands, with each surface – including the deep central countersinks – inviting light to play off of them in new ways.
Developed in collaboration with renowned master watchmaker Jean-François Mojon, Caliber FM-02 powers the Mark II for 7 days on a single wind. The semi-skeletonized design and array of haute-horological hand finishes provide contrast and depth, as well as a glimpse at all major components, allowing the wearer to see how they all interact. The new, bespoke design of the barrels and wheels – which takes inspiration from the silhouette of the case – allows more space for sharp anglage work, and the warm tones selected work in concert with those of the case and dial of Redwood.
The DNA of the lugs – including both the profile and skeletonization – carry over into the buckle design, furthering Thomas Fleming’s goal of total harmony between all components of the overall Mark II design.
